Amcor Launches New Innovation Programs

New Programs for Start-Ups Amcor has started two new programs called Amcor Lift-Off Sprints and Amcor Lift-Off Connect to work with start-ups and find new technology solutions. These programs aim to build on past successes, like using AI to recognize waste and creating reusable and sustainable packaging.

Details About the Programs

  • Amcor Lift-Off Sprints: Helps start-ups solve specific research and development (R&D) problems. Chosen start-ups will work with Amcor’s R&D team and can get up to $500,000 in funding. The first session is set for early 2025, with two sessions planned each year.
  • Amcor Lift-Off Connect: Focuses on partnerships and pilot projects beyond just R&D. The goal is to build strong partnerships that may lead to future investments. The first session, set for December 4, will cover AI in manufacturing and R&D, with more sessions planned for next year.

Amcor’s Commitment Amcor will invest up to $3 million yearly in these programs, including direct funding and R&D support. This encourages teamwork between Amcor, its customers, and start-ups to find better packaging solutions.

Amcor’s Vision Frank Lehmann, VP of Corporate Venturing and Open Innovation at Amcor, said, “We are thrilled to expand our Amcor Lift-Off initiative and bring fresh technology to the packaging industry.”

Applications for the 2025 sessions will open in December. Visit Amcor’s website to learn more about the Lift-Off program.
