SPAR Slovenia has kicked off the 9th edition of its popular campaign, ‘Start it Up, Slovenia.’ This initiative gives local entrepreneurs the opportunity to win a long-term contract with the retailer. Seven talented teams are participating this year, with 20 exciting new products now available in 13 INTERSPAR hypermarkets across the country.
Kicking Off the Season
Showcase at INTERSPAR ALEJA Šiška
The campaign officially began on 18th September with a product showcase at the INTERSPAR ALEJA Šiška Hypermarket. Here, the entrepreneurs introduced their innovative products to customers. It was a big day for these budding businesses as they got the chance to share their stories and products with shoppers.
David Kovačič, CEO of SPAR Slovenia, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “These products are a great response to the growing demand for authentic, minimally processed items. Our stores attract hundreds of thousands of customers, offering these entrepreneurs a bigger platform. From Goat’s Milk Ice Cream to Organic Garlic
This year’s campaign features a wide range of innovative products from the Slovenian countryside. Some highlights include goat’s milk ice cream, organic bread, fruit strips, a fizzy drink made with grape juice, and organic fermented minced garlic. On the beauty front, there are natural makeup products and soothing lavender creams designed for sensitive skin.

The excitement of ‘Start it Up, Slovenia’ extends beyond stores. The show has returned to national TV, competing with popular programs like MasterChef and Slovenia’s Got Talent. Over eight seasons, 75 teams have created more than 300 innovative products, from gourmet foods to skincare items. The campaign’s 2024 winner will be announced at the end of this season, earning a long-term contract with SPAR Slovenia.
